630 - Lago di Dobbiaco
Today was a spur of the moment kind of shoot.
One of those days when you're cruising down the interstate, see something with potential, and swerve your car over to the shoulder. It’s always a gamble, but you can’t win if you don’t play.
What caught my eye was a swan. Sure, there was a lake with a mountain backdrop, but when was the last time you saw a swan?
These things can’t be real. Google says they fly up to 60mph and can have a 10 foot wingspan. I’m not sure if I believe it.
But here they were, chillin’ lakeside like nothing was happening. I got out of my car and walked over. One swam right in front of a log house like it was trying to pose so I snagged a shot:
The universe lined up this up as a freebie.
Some of these photos take months of planning, hours of hiking, and waking up at God knows what hour to accomplish. Then, you have shots like this that are done in less than 10 minutes with nothing more than a side thought.
But you, the consumer, knows none the wiser. For all you know, this shot could have been damn near impossible to get.
Unless you’re reading this.
Which reminds me, why am I writing these again? Is it for me? Or for you? I don’t even know at this point. I’ve written nearly 300 of these at this point so fuck it let’s keep going.
